The Global Language System was established as an educational platform in 1998 to make an objective assessment of language competences for employees of global corporations and other institutions possible. Over the years, TGLS exams have undergone a number of studies and improvements both in content and technical solutions.

Today The Global Language System examinations are a result of work of group of linguists and educational specialists. TGLS language examinations for work purposes (WCELC) have also benefited from feedback and input from HR departments of companies in which they were used.

For the convenience of test candidates all of TGLS examinations can be taken either as a traditional “paper and pen” version, or a computer-based version. The latest uses the most cutting-edge technical solutions including the speaking test conducted as a video livechat.
As all TGLS examinations follow the Common European Framework of Reference the certificates are recognized as a document confirming foreign language ability in all EU countries.
